Mappa has officially canceled the Upcoming “YURI!!! on ICE Movie” due to various circumstances. The Movie’s Cancelation was announced through a Notice via Twitter (X).
MAPPA’s Cancelation Notice
The Announcement was made through a Tweet, on the Official Account of “Yuri on Ice” . The Tweet contained a Cancelation Notice for the Upcoming Movi of the Anime Series. The Notice goes as follows:
“Thank you very much for always supporting “Yuri!!! on ICE”.
Regarding the postponed release of “YURI!!! on ICE the movie : ICE ADOLESCENCE”, we have come to the decision to unfortunately cancel its production.
We deeply apologize for not being able to meet the expectations of all those who have been waiting and have continued to support us throughout these years.
The production committee and staff have been in constant discussions to create and to deliver the movie, but due to various circumstances, we have had to make the difficult decision to stop the production.
We sincerely apologize to everyone who has been anticipating its release and thank you once again for your continued support.

The Movie was a follow-up to the 2016’s “Yuri On Ice” Anime Series and it was initially supposed to release in 2019, but it got significantly delayed for 5 years until it was unfortunately canceled.
Synopsis
Reeling from his crushing defeat at the Grand Prix Finale, Yuuri Katsuki, once Japan’s most promising figure skater, returns to his family home to assess his options for the future. At age 23, Yuuri’s window for success in skating is closing rapidly, and his love of pork cutlets and aptitude for gaining weight are not helping either.
However, Yuuri finds himself in the spotlight when a video of him performing a routine previously executed by five-time world champion, Victor Nikiforov, suddenly goes viral. In fact, Victor himself abruptly appears at Yuuri’s house and offers to be his mentor.
As one of his biggest fans, Yuuri eagerly accepts, kicking off his journey to make it back onto the world stage. But the competition is fierce, as the rising star from Russia, Yuri Plisetsky, is relentlessly determined to defeat Yuuri and win back Victor’s tutelage.
